Hugely popular and long-running mbaqanga (a form of urban African soul) group, formed in Natal in 1974 with some thirty albums to their name. Lead singer David Masondo (originally the drummer) and keyboard player Moses Ngwenya were the core of this prolific group after bassist and founding member Zenzele "Zakes" Mchunu died in 1984.

The book which was published in 2017 by Maluks Books, tells the story of how the Soul Brothers emerged and in the 70s through the eyes of Black Moses Ngwenya, who has been there from the word go and is now the only surviving original member.
